Have introduced a special hour in stores for NHS workers as a thank you for all they are doing. On Sundays, they can browse large stores and select their shopping an hour before the checkouts open. If you’re an NHS worker, you must take a form of ID to store, such as an NHS staff card.
To ensure more vulnerable and elderly customers can shop for what they need in large stores, Tesco have prioritised one hour every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning between 9-10am.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, all Sainsburys supermarkets will dedicate 8am – 9am to serving elderly, disabled and vulnerable customers, as well as NHS and Social Care workers. They will just need to show us their pass or ID when they visit.
The first opening hour in Waitrose supermarkets will be dedicated to our elderly and vulnerable shoppers, as well as those who look after them.
We’re currently working through the exact detail of this and will shortly start offering our elderly and vulnerable customers priority access to our waitrose.com delivery slots. We’ll be doing this in a number of ways, including contacting as many customers as we can who have previously identified themselves to us as elderly or vulnerable, contacting all our registered customers over the age of 70 who have a waitrose.com account and a Partnership Card, and looking at how we can reach those on the list of vulnerable people the government intends to share with retailers.
If you need help if self-isolating or just everything that is going on are here to help. Call the 0800 246 1618. If you need help with shopping, don’t give money until you have been given receipts, never give anyone your card details.
